Recap: navabi at London Fashion Week

What are the trends for the autumn/winter season 2013, what’s new and what’s here to stay? To find an answer to these questions we went to London, the fashion metropolis. Discover right here what we were up to!

Our fashion-team (Anna & Esther) and brand manager Jürgen at the meet & greet with Anna Scholz and blogger Tanesha Awasthi.

The first thing on our schedule was a meet & greet with the fabulous Anna Scholz. In her headquarter we were able to take a sneak peek at her latest collection and behind the scenes. The winner of our navabi Curvy Blog Award 2012, Girl with Curves, was also there to meet Anna and us. After chatting intensively, sharing funny anecdotes and getting plenty of information we said goodbye to Tanesha and the wonderful designer. We laughed a lot, got along well and gained some great insight – the day couldn’t have had a better start!

Fashion editor Esther presented some of our spring/summer highlights to the girls from „Curvaceous Inc“

Up next, there were some appointments with bloggers, fashion editors and well-known magazine publishers. After presenting a selection of our spring wear, we had the chance to get to know each other and to answer a number of questions. The outcome of our first day in London: we met amazing people, established great contacts and had a lot of fun. On we go!

We started our second day with a visit to the British Plus Size Fashion Weekend. This event took place at the same time as the regular London Fashion Week, for the first time ever. Upon arrival, we saw many familiar faces and got to talk to some designers, such as the Dutch label Gets. Time passed more than quickly and before we even knew several hours had gone by. Our next destination: London Fashion Week!

Arriving at the Freemasons Hall, we got in the queue of fashion-crazy visitors to take a look at the runway show of the British designer Carlotta Actis Barone. Her creations were characterized by monochrome outfits in black and white, combined with leather panels and lightweight chiffon fabric. After that, we got a chance to see the show of the designer Bernard Chandran in front row!

The perfect finish of an eventful Saturday was definitely the Plus Size Fashion Show! From elegant robes over swimwear up to casual clothing – the models on the runway impressed with naturalness and a strong sense of self-confidence. After the lovely show we met Eva, a model of the Plus Size Fashion Show, whom we got to know and appreciate a day earlier. That’s how a successful day came to an end.

What a beautiful dress! Definitely the highlight of „Pauline et Julie“’s collection

Our result for the days in London? A lively city, plenty of great people, exciting moments, new contacs and the list goes on – a simply unforgettable trip to the fashion metropolis of England.

Refreshing look at plus size fashion. Why don’t older models feature in your fashion shows and shoots?
We like up to the minute fashion and age isn’t a barrier to looking smart and trendy!
Are fashion shows ever held in the North of England?
