Bo, you blew us away with your sporting success and your natural beauty! Do you reveal your secret to us?
Wow that is really nice! I think the biggest lesson in life I have learned is: everything in moderation! Whatever you are doing, just have fun with it! Living as stress free as possible and spending tons of time in the sun with good friends at the beach! That’s it!
You love the sea and you have a penchant for fashion. How would you describe your style?
I grew up in a small beach town, so I am naturally drawn to always be in bikinis and summer dresses. I love to mix Boho-chic with a beach girl vibe. Whatever I am wearing, I try to keep it casual, but when I go out I love wearing heels and a dress! As a girl, you gotta dress up once in a while!
You are not only a professional surfer and model, but also ambassador for the campaign „Healthy is the new skinny“ – which is your message for curvier women struggling with their body image?
I think it is so hard for women to have a realistic view of what their bodies should look like. The media chooses to show us underweight, over photoshopped, and surgically alerted women. So the majority of women have no idea what went behind that image and think, naturally that is what they should look like. It is such a false, harmful message because in real life women look different. The media needs to start showing natural beauty, sans plastic surgery, and a healthy body – so that young girls have something positive and REAL to look up to!
