Did you know? FINALLY navabi

On the occasion of this year’s Berlin Fashion week, we have thought of something very special. Who, where, what, when? Check it out!

FINALLY navabi

Berlin Fashion Week, July 2012: Fashion, trends, glamour, stars, designer.

An entire industry has every reason to celebrate itself. Fashion is a way for women to express their personality, making it possible to rediscover themselves. Acceptance, attractiveness and success, both on a professional and private level, are very much linked to the confidence and charisma fashion can communicate. It has the potential to create joie de vivre.

All this can, and should be, celebrated and staged. However, there is a “but”.

A “but” surrounding us every day affecting many of us. It is being seen but somehow no one seems to notice it. Maybe this is due to the lack of alternatives. Does it become invisible then?

We will not accept this “but”, neither are we willing to get over it. It just does not correspond to our conviction. In Berlin, we will send a very clear message, giving the world a reality check.

Prepare for an eye-opening experience.

It was loud in Berlin. It was bold. It was shocking. And it was fascinating.

At this years’ Berlin Fashion Week, we have given a clear sign – we have set an example. As an online shop for designer fashion from a size 12 upwards, we do not want to put up with the current situation of the fashion industry. The “nudity” of our model is a symbol for the acute lack of sophisticated and stylish clothing for plus size women. At the same time, it stands for exactly this female self-confidence, to feel comfortable in one’s own skin and to be proud of one’s body.

I am so glad you are making this statement. I seldom find anything in the shops to wear. Our biggest department store in Canada (The Bay) has stopped selling plus size in many of it’s stores and if they do, it is a small unfashionable selection in the back far corner. One of my favourite chain shops has moved plus sizes out of most of the stores completely. I am so disappointed. I am really starting to feel alienated and discriminated against. It used to be there WAS plus size around, albeit pretty awful, now it’s disappearing. When I mention to managers how there is no plus, they just say it isn’t a good seller. That’s because they offer us awful granny clothes and so we shop online….from overseas like Navabi because we want real fashion.

I wore my gorgeous grey linen dress from Navabi to a party yesterday and everyone asked where I got it. I don;t know what I would do if I hadn;t found you.

      Hi Razmataz,

thanks so much for your comment! That’s exactly the message we wanted to communicate, as we know that it can be quite difficult to find plus size clothing, both trendy and of high-quality.
It’s great to hear you like our clothes so much! If there’s anything we can help you with in the future, just let us know!

      Your navabi team
